9. Bakewell
Test your skill in the ancient skill of archery, under the guidance of Chief Grand Master Bowman Mark Allsop and his team, at Haddon Hall, Bakewell, every Tuesday in August, from 10.30am until 4pm. 10. Chatsworth
Take part in a big tree climb at Stand Wood, near the farmyard at Chatsworth, from August 12 to 16. This great family activity enables eight people to climb at a time and tests balance and co-ordination. Not only will you get close to nature but you'll enjoy a great view from the top of the tree. Climbs will be led by a fully qualified instructor from the Great Big Tree Climbing Company. The big tree climb is suitable for six years and upwards and costs £25 per person.
