St Joseph’s Rockware of Worksop lose cup penalty shootout to FC Sez
The round two tie finished 2-2 at the end of normal time which meant penalties were required to separate the two teams, with Sez winning the shootout 5-3 to inflict a first home defeat of the season on SJR.
It was a closely fought cup game on the whole, SJR playing the better of the two sides in the first half on a very heavy surface with goals from Reece Twell and Dan Whiltshire putting them into a 2-0 lead.

Hide AdOn starting the second half, though, Sez showed more determination but with no early success until SJR had a player red-carded and the tie was turned on its head with a resulting penalty and then a quick-fire second to level.
Sez had a goal disallowed for offside and 10-man SJR finished the second half the stronger after the introduction of Andrew Guest and Tommy Durrant, but ended up losing in a penalty shootout.
On reflection, if SJR had taken their chances and opportunities in the first half it could have put the game beyond Sez.
