Spireite legends and TV soap stars’ charity match
Hundreds of kind-hearted fans turned out at Chesterfield FC’s Proact Stadium to enjoy a charity soccer match between Spireites’ legends from down the years and a team of celebrities.
Clowne-based Karen Child, who won the National Lottery in 2007, has formed a charity called The Child Foundation to help under-privileged and poorly youngsters and their families.
The match on Sunday was the charity’s first fundraiser and fans delighted over a team of soap TV stars from Emmerdale and Hollyoaks and Chesterfield legends including Jack Lester.
Six-year-old Josh Higginbottom, pictured, led the teams out with his Dad Alan.
Chesterfield legends took the honours with a 6-3 victory.
