Here are Liam Norcliffe’s player ratings from the match...
5. Jordan Cropper 6
Returned from injury and was lively down the right flank in the first half. We didn't see as much of him after the break but he kept plugging away and almost grabbed an equaliser when he burst past his man and into the box but his shot hit the side-netting. Photo: Tina Jenner
6. Milan Butterfield 6
The midfielder was tidy on the ball and moved it well in the first half. I would like to see him be a bit more aggressive and dominate games more because I feel there is more to come from him. Photo: Tina Jenner
7. Curtis Weston 5
Weston was not his usual energetic self and wasn't quite at it. The one moment when he did run beyond Maidenhead's defence he was brought down on the edge of the box. We needed to see more of that. Photo: Steve Flynn/AHPIX LTD
8. Joe Rowley 6
A surprise inclusion. His first start for Chesterfield in 11 months and his first appearance since coming on as a sub on the opening day of the season. In the first half he was one of Town's best players. He demanded the ball, broke between the lines and linked up the play well. He didn't have the same impact after the break. If he had built on his first half showing, he would have been at least a 7. Photo: Tina Jenner
