Further redundancies possible at the Proact - but relegation won't bring more

Chris Turner, the club’s director of football, departed on Wednesday when his role was made redundant.

Hide AdCarson admits staff will be worried and he wants to settle the situation as soon as possible.
“I’m looking at every department, particularly conferencing and banqueting,” he said.
“I have to draw a line under it all, we’ve got staff worried about their jobs.
“I’m hoping to draw a conclusion to it in the next four weeks – but we’ll probably have to go through consultations.”

Hide AdThe Spireites are staring relegation in the face, sitting 11 points from safety with a dozen games left in the season.
It has been known at many other clubs for redundancies to follow a drop into the division below.
But Carson doesn’t expect that to be the case.
“I would say no.
“We had Richard Nicholls, the commercial manager, but his contract was terminated and we’re not going to be replacing him as such.
“I will be appointing someone else to look after the bigger deals, the stand sponsorships and what not.
“And we have Jim Brown, Debbie Johnson and Richard Herrick who are going to handle other things.”
