Frenzel and Poiney scored 26 apiece on a difficult wicket for Calow as they posted 140/8 in the Division 9N Derbyshire County Cricket League fixture.

Alistair Morley's 3-25 was the pick of the figures, with two wickets apiece for Steve Haslam and Steven Moore.

In reply, with the drizzle keeping each batsmen company longer than any partner managed, only Mick Rowan (19) and Steven Moore (30) could be happy with their day, as Thomas Mainprize (3-13) wrapped up the tail to bowl Matlock out for 83.
