Chesterfield set for late summer heatwave as temperatures soar to 28°C

The warm spell is forecast to reach the town on Monday afternoon when any cloud will break up to reveal more sunny conditions, with highs of 25°C possible later in the day and the potential for the odd light shower according to BBC weather.
Temperatures are then expected to increase on Tuesday, rising to a balmy 28°C by around 4pm and with lows of just 14°C alongside dry conditions and plenty of sunshine.

Hide AdA similar outlook is predicted for Wednesday once the early mist and fog patches clear, with highs of 28°C by mid-afternoon and a gentle breeze.
However, the good weather is not likely to stay throughout the later part of the week as, judging by the latest predictions, there is a high chance of rain on Thursday and Friday.
The BBC long range forecast for the East Midlands says: “On Wednesday, it will be a dry day with extensive sunshine throughout, and it will remain very warm for the time of year.
"Thursday will see a return to unsettled weather with widespread rain and potential thunder, but some places may hang onto warmer temperatures.
