The average temperature where you live must be recorded as, or forecast to be, 0C or below for seven consecutive days for the payments to kick in.

Hide AdCold weather payments apply for exceptionally cold spells between November 1 and March 31 and you may be entitled if you’re getting pension credit, income support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Universal Credit or Support for Mortgage Interest.
The payments should be made automatically and they do not affect your benefits.
If you think you are entitled to a payment and have not received it, you should tell your pension centre or Jobcentre Plus office.
