Delays on M1 between Chesterfield and Worksop after car crashes into barrier

Drivers heading for the M1 are being warned to expect delays between Chesterfield and Worksop after a car crashed into the central reservation.

It happened on the southbound carriageway between J30 and J29A this afternoon (Wednesday, September 23).

Firefighters from Staveley attended the scene along wiht Highways England.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: “We were called just after 1pm to a report of a car hitting the central reservation between junction 29A and 30.

"No one was injured, we are arranging for the vehicle to be recovered.”
