Road closures as more snow arrives in High Peak
Wintry showers began falling in the area at lunchtime, with treacherous driving conditions now reported on many high-level routes.
The A54 Buxton Road remains closed due to heavy snowfall, police report, however the A57 Snake Pass and the A537 Cat and Fiddle have since reopened.

Hide AdEarlier, motorists reported hazardous driving conditions on the A53 heading out of Buxton, along the A515 between Buxton and Ashbourne, and on the A6 between Buxton and Bakewell.

Derbyshire County Council said gritters were patrolling northern routes.
High Peak Buses temporarily suspended its 58 service between Buxton and Macclesfield. The 442 service between Buxton and Ashbourne was also halted, but is expected to start running again at 5pm.
A yellow warning of snow for Derbyshire is in force until this evening.

Hide AdA Met Office spokesperson said: “Accumulations of 2cm to 5cm are expected in places above 200m, with 10cm or more over high ground above 350m.
“Winds will gust to over 50mph on coasts and hills, leading to drifting and blizzard conditions on high level routes.”
Further sleet and snow showers are expected in Derbyshire on Monday and Tuesday, with warnings of icy patches on untreated surfaces.
