Ripley’s Michael hopes to be top of the chops in Kentucky

Michael Wallage is set to make his first foray into the USA’s competitive bearding circuit.

Michael, of Oak Avenue, Ripley – who has gone 25 years without a full shave – will be representing Team GB at Whiskermania, which is being staged by the Derby City Whiskers Club at Tim Faulkner Gallery in Kentucky.

Michael said: “I’ll be the sole representative from the UK.

“Competitors are expected from all over the state and further afield.

“It’s going to be a huge event – there are more than 130 confirmed competitors to date with at least two world champions in attendance.”

Michael has clinched a place in the contest thanks to the help of his sponsors, Beardilizer.
