Remembering a great locomotive
As one of the world's most famous steam locomotives has returned to service, we take a look back at a visit the great engine made to the Peaks 17 years ago.
This photograph, provided by Victor Gibbons, of New Mills, shows the Flying Scotsman arriving at the 1999 Hartington Moor Steam Rally on a low-loader.
It was famed for being the first ever non-stop London to Edinburgh service and reached 100mph in 1934 - making it the fastest locomotive at that time.
Do you have any memories of the engine?
