5. Chesterfield
Bridge 'Family' Fest takes place at The Bridge Inn, Hollis Lane, Chesterfield on May 5 from 12 noon and includes a 30ft slide, bungee run, singers Marilyn Henshaw and Ashton Morton, food stalls, a hog roast, slushies for adults and children. The event runs until 1.30am. Photo: Sophie Orton
6. Cromford
Cromford Mills will be turning Japanese for the day on May 4 when there will be musical performances from LJ English who is Britain's only Enka singer and Sumie Kent, a masterful Koto player. Aikido Derby will be entertaining visitors with a martial arts display and there will be opportunities to try on a kimono, paint a fox mask, play a game of Shogi and taste Japanese cuisine and pan-Asian dishes. 7. Alfreton
A classic car show including vintage motorcycles and high-end sports cars will be held at the White Hart Inn, Moorwood Moor, Alfreton on May 6 from midday until 5pm. Giant inflatables, mobile axe throwing, outdoors bars and an outdoor kitchen are among the attractions. 8. Tideswell
