A BMW left the road, near the roundabout at Morrison’s supermarket, and caused major damage to railings and the roadside.
People living close to the scene of the incident, which took place on Saturday, September 4 at about 11pm, described the noise of the crash as ‘like a gas explosion’.

Hide AdA 26-year-old woman, who lives on Mill Green, just off the A619, said her family was asleep when they heard the noise.
"Flying bricks damaged my husband’s van,” she said.
"We thought it was a gas explosion it was so loud. It caused a real mess and they only started cleaning it up yesterday.”
Other residents shopping in Staveley today said speeding drivers were a problem on the A619 and residential roads.
Margaret Orme, 73, who lives in Mastin Moor, said: “The main disruption from it is noise. It is a bit of a nuisance on the A619.”

Hide AdDavid Cowgill, 71, of Middlecroft, said he had experienced more problems with motorbikes than speeding cars.
"I hear them revving their engines, riding like idiots with no helmets,” he said.
Staveley resident Dorrain English, 53, said ‘boy racers’ were an issue in the town, particularly in areas like High Street in the evenings.
"They do a loop around the town centre,” she added. “You can hear them revving engines.”

"It’s also a problem in Inkersall when you speak to people about it,” he said.
"Where I live there are brutal speed bumps which do put a stop to it because they don’t want to ruin the suspension on their cars.”
Derbyshire police said the driver of the BMW had been ‘identified and spoken to’ but their investigation is continuing.

He added: "I’m so glad no one was hurt as this junction is a popular crossing point for pedestrians walking to Morrison’s or the market square.”
