Jennifer Demicheli, of Stonebroom, was inspired to write the piece entitled ‘In Times Like These’ after the tune was whirring around her head during a sleepless night.

Mum of three Jennifer said: “The night I was awake I learned that my Nan was unwell; she has not got coronavirus but she’s got a chest infection and it is worrying for the family.

“With that in mind and already the anxieties of what's going off worldwide, I felt I would write a piece of music that would bring comfort and peace to a lot of people - I'm hoping that is what it is doing.”

Pianist Jennifer , 41, has dedicated her first composition to the ‘memory of all those who lost the fight in the pandemic of 2020’.

Jennifer, who has been playing piano since she was six years old, spent a day writing the piece. She recorded it on a mobile phone and uploaded it to her Facebook and YouTube sites. She said: “It’s had well over a thousand views which I wasn’t expecting.”

Music plays a large part in the life of Jennifer who accompanies five choirs, including two at Darley Dale’s Tinderbox Performing Arts, Sutton Melody, Sempre in Mansfield and The Musicality Singers at Worksop, and is organist at St Thomas Church, Kirkby in Ashfield. She said: “I love music, I’d be completely lost without it.”

Her first concert performance of In Times Like These will be live streamed for Classical Coffee Lincoln on Facebook on May 10, at 11am.
