Inquest held into death of Derbyshire baby

An inquest has resumed into the death of a newborn baby at the Royal Derby Hospital.

Amelia Brusby was delivered by emergency Caesarean section on December 22, 2014. But she died shortly after being born.

Her mum, Danielle Barton, 22, from Belper, was admitted to the Royal Derby Hospital at 40 weeks and eight days into her pregnancy.

Ms Barton is expected to attend the inquest with her partner James Brusby and her mother Karen.

The family will be represented at the inquest by medical negligence lawyers Irwin Mitchell.

The inquest is being held today at Derby Coroner’s Court in St Mary’s Wharf, Mansfield Road.
