Cromford parking restriction petition ignored

Residents on Tor View Rise, Cromford, had petitioned for restrictions in the wake of vans parking at the junction.

Residents claimed that the vans blocked visibility for motorists and pedestrians and created problems with refuse collection.

But at a meeting of the Highways and Transport Committee today, the authority decided that “no further action be taken” as no injuries had been recorded.

The authority also stated that, while they had observed vans parking, they were “not committing any offence”.
