Investigation launched after discovery of body on Derbyshire allotment

A police investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man’s body on an allotment in Derbyshire.

The body was discovered on land off Prospect Drive, Shirebrook, yesterday morning.

The man’s identity and age have not yet been released.

Detectives investigating the incident want to hear from anyone who may have heard a noise or disturbance between 10.30pm on Saturday, January 25 and 10.30am on Sunday, January 26.

They also want to hear from anyone with CCTV cameras in the area and motorists with dash cams who may have been driving in the area between that timeframe.

In a statement issued today, Derbyshire Constabulary said: “The investigation is in its early stages and enquiries are continuing to establish how the death occurred.”
