Drone operator 'dealt with' by Derbyshire police after flight over Chesterfield's Crooked Spire church

Officers from Derbyshire Constabulary say people should never fly drones over congested areas without the correct permission.
The operator wrongly believed it would be acceptable because the town centre was so quiet during the coronavirus crisis.

Hide AdThe Derbyshire Constabulary Drone Unit tweeted: “We have been made aware of a drone flight over Chesterfield town centre on April 28 whereby the drone came close to the Crooked Spire and flew over the market area.
“The operator has now been dealt with for breach of Article 95 ANO by Restorative Justice.
“The operator believed that because the town was quiet during the Covid-19 period it was ok. All the video footage of this flight has been removed from social media
“Never fly over a congested area without the correct permissions.”
