Derbyshire police stop 'race track driver' doing over 100mph on M1
Derbyshire police clocked a driver doing over 100mph on the M1 motorway.
Officers from the force’s roads policing unit revealed the driver of an Alfa Romeo was recorded doing 102mph on the road.
They added that he had held a licence for less than two years and so is so likely to have it revoked.
He could not then drive again until taking a re-test.
Police added the driver claimed he was safe to drive at that speed, as he ‘does track days’, on racetrack circuits.
