On Christmas Day, Einstein’s bar and restaurant on Holywell Street will once again open its doors to help the less fortunate in society.

The Einstein’s team, who held a similar event last December in their first year of trading, will serve a complimentary three-course meal along with entertainment.

“We are opening Einstein’s to anyone that is alone or facing hardship this year so they can enjoy a day of good company and great food on us.

“They will join together with the Einstein’s family to celebrate, eat and drink.

“It’s our little way of giving something back to the community.”

They are seeking to reach out to those most in need - the elderly, those that would otherwise spend Christmas alone, families in need and the homeless.

The staff, who have agreed to waiver their wages for the day, have joined up with CITY Taxis to ensure safe transport of guests to and from the venue at no charge.

If you know of a person or family in need, contact Einstein’s manager, Simone, on 01246 767177.

The bar is also appealing for small gifts to give out on the day such as warm hats, socks, gloves, scarves, toiletries and chocolates.

As well as the team at Einstein’s, the Whittington Moor Methodist Church is also inviting those who don’t have anyone else this Christmas Day to a ‘Lunch for Jesus’.

Mydudu Gaven from the Church says the event will run from 2-6pm and will feature carols followed by dinner.

He said: “I know there are still people who spend Christmas on their own and no one should have to do that.
