Buxton pupils learn about anti–social behaviour

PCSO Linda Cook and PCSO Patrick Haley from the Buxton and Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood team visited Buxton Community School on Thursday, January 15.

During their visit, the officers spoke to around 175 pupils, aged 12 and 13-years-old, about their role in the community as part of the students PSHE day.

The presentation covered areas such as ASB and the consequences, the effects that nuisance behaviour has on local residents, and also the powers that police have to tackle the issue.

The lesson finished with pupils discussing ideas around what makes a ‘Model Buxtonian.’

PCSO Linda Cook from the Buxton Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Working closely with local schools and engaging with youngsters is one of our key aims to help prevent anti-social behaviour in our communities and encourage them to think carefully about their actions in the future.”

“The students got involved with activities and focused on learning more about ASB and the consequences that it can bring.”
