Appeal for witnesses after Somercotes hit and run

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was hit by a car in Somercotes.

The man was walking along Nottingham Road when a black Mini Cooper car mounted the pavement and hit him.

The driver of the car did not stop and drove off in the direction of Alfreton.

The pedestrian suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to Kingsmill Hospital.

Anyone with information on the incident, which occurred at around 9.20am on May 27, is asked to contact PC Elizabeth Cross on 101 quoting reference number 19374.
