Wedding plans hit choppy waters in fun-filled play
A drama group launches its production of a well-known comedy this week.
Sailor Beware tells the tale of a sailor betrothed to be married, but wary that home-life may echo that of his bride-to-be’s parents: a hen-pecked husband who spends much of his time with his beloved ferrets, and a battleaxe mother who is very disapproving of her future son-in-law. Will the wedding go ahead?
Find out what happens in Bolsover Drama Group’s production at the town’s Assembly Rooms from May 19 to 21 at 7.15pm with a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
The group is returning to a comedy which it staged 16 years ago. Director Janet Koszegi said: “It’s a great play with lots of laughs.”
The new cast includes Ray Wignal, Istvan Koszegi, Ian Simpson, Ken Radmore, Chrissy Smith, Louise Sutton, Leanne Blunt, Sue Hilton and Ruth Bonner.
