Cluster of Chesterfield St Mary’s students self-isolate amid two Covid-19 cases

A number of students at Chesterfield’s St Mary’s Catholic High School have been told to stay home following two confirmed Covid-19 cases.

On Friday the school tweeted that ‘a number’ of sixth formers had been told to self-isolate after being identified by Public Health England due to one confirmed Covid-19 case.

They added that all other Year 12 students should attend on Monday as normal.

However yesterday (Saturday) the school posted another tweet that ‘additional’ students had now been asked to stay at home following a second confirmed case.

The school say students who were alerted on Friday should now isolate for an ‘additional day’.

The tweet read: “The period of isolation is important and some students contacted yesterday now need to isolate an additional day.”
