Feelgood tale launches new season in Holloway

Based on the hit stage musical of the same name, this film tells the story of two young soldiers’ return from Afghanistan to Scotland.

Featuring music by the Proclaimers, this is very much a feelgood British film, directed by Dexter Fletcher. All members and guests will be offered a glass of wine that evening to mark the new season of films.

Other movies on the new programme include Blue Jasmine, set in New York and San Francisco and directed by Woody Allen, Argo, which is based on true events and chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans behind the scenes of the Iran hostage crisis, Rush, which recreates the epic Formula 1 racing rivalry of the 1970s between James Hunt and Niki Lauda, and Philomena, with Judi Dench in the title role and Steve Coogan playing BBC journalist Martin Sixsmith.
