Walkers put best foot forward to help church

SPONSORED walkers have raised £600 for the fund to repair and revamp Ironville church.

The group walked four miles within ecclesiastical boundary of the parish of Ironville to raise the cash.

The money will be used to help revamp Christ Church, Casson Street, in the village. The weary walkers were served hot soup after their trek courtesy of the curate the Rev Jo Morris.

The walk was the first of a number of events for the fund.

The next one will be a Snowdrop Tea which will be held in the church on Saturday, February 25, from 2pm to 4pm, with everybody welcome to attend, said church warden Michael Blount.
