Big Theatre’s recent production of These Hard Times : featuring the beautiful Sleary sisters, proved a success and concluded with two sold-out performances.

Big Theatre is a youth theatre company, established in 2009 by Louise Maskill, Finn Shannon and Jo Shannon.

The company’s 2013 project ran over the course of a fortnoight and ended with two sold-out performances of what was a fresh adaptation of the novel Hard Times by Charles Dickens, with original music and songs, specially composed by Finn Shannon and Mark Psmith.

The course involved acting, singing, dancing and all aspects of stage craft, and the 18 participants, whose ages ranged from 12 to 16, all worked hard to create a magical evening’s entertainment.

Big Theatre 2013 was based at Bonsall School and was supported by Stoneseed IT, the Derbyshire County Council’s Youth Arts Grant and Derbyshire Dales District Council’s ADD Fund.
