Baywatch favourite David Hasselhoff is to head an all-star cast for the Theatre Royal Nottingham pantomime Peter Pan this Christmas, the venue has announced.
The international star, aka The Hoff, is best known for his iconic roles as Michael Knight in Knight Rider and Mitch Buchanan in Baywatch.
He will star as baddie Captain Hook and says he’s thrilled to be heading to Nottingham.
“I love performing in pantomime. It’s a fabulous British tradition and a great excuse to get the whole family together and enjoy a wonderful and entertaining time at the theatre. I can’t wait to spend Christmas with the people of Nottingham but watch out - Hoff the Hook is coming to get you. You’re gonna love me....oh yes, you are!”
Joining David on stage in the title role of Peter Pan is children’s television star Barney Harwood, from Blue Peter.
Barney started his career at the age of 17 in the boy band Goal and made the move into presenting two years later. He has appeared on a string of successful shows such as Prank Patrol, Bear Behaving Badly, Barney’s Barrier Reef and Basil’s Swap Shop.
Adding a touch of sparkle to the pantomime in the role of the Magical Mermaid is television and stage favourite Su Pollard - best known for playing Peggy in the 80s sitcom Hi-de-Hi!
As an actress, singer, writer and comedienne Nottingham-born Su has enjoyed a career spanning 40 years.
Jonathan Kiley, executive producer of Peter Pan said: “We are thrilled to present a stellar line-up of huge talent for this year’s Theatre Royal Christmas show. Peter Pan guarantees a treasure-chest full of comedy, much seasonal silliness, along with stunning flying sequences.”
The show runs from December 7-January 12. Call the box office for ticket details on 0115 9895555.
