The Nottingham Trent University Choir will be joining forces with a leading orchestra for a one-off performance at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall on Saturday, March 23.

City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra are joining forces with the university’s 150- strong choir for the first time to participate in the Last Night of the Spring Proms concert on March 23.

Classics such as Rule Britannia, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory will be played throughout the evening and the choir are set to perform the world premiere of British composer Paul Carr’s new composition.

Violin virtuoso Anna-Liisa Bezrodny will perform the hugely-popular Violin Concerto No.1. by Max Bruch and Welsh soprano, Natasha Marsh will perform several beautiful arias.

Conductor and Nottingham Trent University’s director of music, Matthew Hopkins, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for the students but also for everyone in the city.

“For those who haven’t attended a proms concert before, this is a wonderful introduction to the event and for regulars they will be able to view a spectacular performance by top class musicians on their doorstep.”
