Stacey ready to push the button

Derby will be welcoming X-Factor favourite and Queen of the Jungle, Stacey Solomon, for Westfield Shopping Centre’s Christmas lights switch on.

A number of performers will be taking to the stage from 2pm on Saturday, November 17, and the big switch-on will be just before 4pm.

Last year’s winners of Westfield’s annual choir competition, The Pennine Way Junior Academy choir, will kick off the show to get Derby in the festive spirit, followed by local dance group, Heat Academy of Dance.

Stacey will perform to the crowds before helping Santa to push the button and bring the lights to life at 4pm.

Janine Bone, senior centre manager at Westfield Derby said: “We’re very excited to welcome Stacey to the centre for what is one of the biggest events of our Christmas calendar.

“We have lots of great entertainment planned to provide an afternoon of fun for everyone, so we hope that people will come and join in the festivities!”

Following the switch-on, Father Christmas will join the performers on a parade down to Derby City’s market square to see Derby City Council’s switch-on, taking place at 6pm.
