The Derbyshire Dales will once again welcome the talents of Lincolnshire-based singer/songwriter, Abi Moore, on Saturday, June 8.
Abi was Caffe Nero’s Artist of the Month in 2009 and she played live at most of the company’s Derbyshire stores that summer, before returning with a full show at The Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale and The Fishpond in Matlock Bath.
She is well known for her open and involving on- stage personality, engaging audiences with songs that are both personal and universal, with real emotion, heart and honesty.
Actively fighting the current trend of disposable music; this is one woman with one guitar and one piano who can make you feel things you won’t feel by watching a lifetime’s worth of pop stars on TV.
Her sound blends elements of 70’s pop-folk-rockers Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell and Carole King with the modern day relevance of Karine Polwart, Sheryl Crow and some gutsy KT Tunstall- style Americana.
She weaves her perceptive words into enchanting melodies, sung with an outstanding voice.
Abi released her debut album The Aftermath of ‘96 in 2006 and followed it with “Things We Should’ve Said” in 2009.
She is in the final stages of recording her brand new album, which is due for release this October.
On this visit, Abi Moore will be playing live at the beautifully renovated Coach House Studios in Wirksworth, based at Crown Yard, Market Place, , DE4 4ET.
Doors open at 7pm with local artist Carol Fieldhouse suppporting at 7.30pm.
Non- alcoholic refreshments will be provided but please feel free to bring your own bottle.
