Steeleye Span to play city venue

Steeleye Span
Steeleye Span

Folk rock pioneers, pop stars and an inspiration to generations. All of these can be used to describe Steeleye Span.

The group will be performing in the Great Hall at Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Saturday, March 16.

With a career that has taken in an astounding six decades, Steeleye Spanis not just a legendary name in British music but also a link to the classic days of rock and folk music.

Contemporaries of the likes of Led Zeppelin and Fairport Convention, they have gone on to change the face of folk music forever, taking it from small clubs and festivals into the world of chart topping albums and international tours.

Now, having established themselves live over the last two years as a six-piece, Steeleye Span approach this year’s tour with their usual vigour and the luxury of 20 albums’ worth of material to chose from.

Tickets are available by calling the box office on 01332 255800.
