Show goes on for JigeryFolkery

POPULAR Belper folk ‘n roll band JigeryFolkery will appear at the George and Dragon, Bridge Street, Belper. on Friday, June 17, starting at about 9pm.

But the electric-folk four-piece will have to borrow equipment for the gig as the band’s entire sound system has been stolen.

Mandolin and bagpipe player Hugh Stewart explained: “Our entire stage gear has gone, lights and all! We’re left with almost nothing – that is, apart from the instruction manual for my Wharfedale PA mixer. So if the thieves are having a hard time setting it up properly, they sould come along to the gig. I could give them some technical advice.”

The band have a full diary of dates around the Midlands, and will be playing at the Belper Food festival on July 17, so members are determined to keep playing.

As Matt Lovelock, the band’s frontman, concluded: “We won’t let this minor setback stop us bringing folk and roll to our audiences. We’ll get by somehow.”
