FOO Fighters fans are in for a real treat when tribute band Four Fighters drop in at The Flowerpot in Derby on Friday, May 13, for a gig.
The band was formed in 2003, by Foo Fighters fans for Foo Fighters fans. Four vastly experienced musicians came together for this project with a passion to recreate the sound of the legendary Dave Grohl-fronted, American supergroup.
All of the Foo Fighters studio albums, from their eponymous debut to the much acclaimed Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace and the 2011 release Wasting Light are represented and given the live treatment by this band.
They perform the songs with an energy and passion that only true fans could and perform them in the same way you would see and hear them at a Foo Fighters live show. Crowd favourites like This Is A Call, Stacked Actors, Learn To Fly, Everlong, The Pretender, All My Life, Best Of You, Rope, are mainstays of the Four Fighters setlist.
Back at the King Street-based venue on Saturday, May 14, are Skinny Molly.
Skinny Molly was founded in 2004 by Mike Estes (formerly of Lynyrd Skynyrd), Dave Hlubek (formerly of Molly Hatchet) and drummer Kurt Pietro. What was meant to be a one-off tour of Europe has turned into one of the hardest working and popular rock bands out of the southern United States.
Skinny Molly now includes guitarist Jay Johnson, and bassist Luke Bradshaw. This line-up has toured relentlessly, crossing the States and three continents on the strength of their No Good Deed debut CD, which has established the band as popular touring outfit across Europe.
Finally, the latest in the series of acoustic Wednesdays slots at The Flowerpot in on Wednesday, May 18 and features local favourites Woolley and Archer.
Alan Woolley and Leavon Archer have been performing as a duo for over ten years with a set that comprises blues and rock classics belted out with passion and raw energy alongside a selection of their own compositions.
