NOTTINGHAM Philharmonic Orchestra’s members will return to action on Saturday, January 28 for their annual family concert at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall.
The concert, which features a guest host in the shape of BBC sports presenter Hazel Irvine, is to be conducted by Mark Heron and is titled Best Of British and gets under way at 7pm.
The patriotically-themed concert features Eric Coates’s Dambusters’ March, various themes from the James Bond films, Ron Grainer’s Doctor Who Theme, Ron Goodwin’s 633 Squadron, an arrangement of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, Elgar’s Nimrod and Pomp and Circumstance March No 1, Walton’s coronation march Crown Imperial and many more.
The Best Of British theme has been chosen to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the holding of the London Olympics.
