Rally cars and The Italian Job, flower power and celebrity owners: the humble mini car has had many adventures since its launch in 1959.
Fans of the fab car will have the chance to revel in nostalgia on Sunday, July 31, when Crich Tramway Village throws open its gates to its annual Mini Meet.
Hundreds of Minis are expected to attend, plus club stands, trade stands, and street entertainment. Timed Mini Parades will also feature in the event, with Minis driving though the village’s period street, weaving in and out of the vintage tram service.
Marketing manager Cara Marchant said: “The Tramway Village creates a unique atmosphere for vehicle rallies with its recreated village street and rides on vintage trams. The events are always very well attended and much loved by vehicle owners. Our regulars thoroughly enjoy the day, but we would also like to extend a warm invitation to Mini owners who have perhaps never participated before.”
