Jam-packed season of comedy on the way

Derby LIVE’s jam-packed season of great comedy continues with appearances from Danny Bhoy, Jenny Eclair, Rhod Gilbert and Festival of the Spoken Nerd.

A show about little annoyances and letter writing, is how Danny Bhoy’s Dear Epson offering is described. It is on Saturday, 6 October 6, 8pm at the Guildhall Theatre. Tickets are £16.25.

Dear Epson is a stand up/breakdown show which revolves around a handful of other letters he’s penned out of frustration, with mixed results.

It’s a show about those little annoyances that are too frivolous to be a cause

and too inconsequential to be a campaign.

Jenny Éclair will perform Eclairious on Sunday, October 14 Oct, starting at 8pm at the Guildhall. Tickets are £18.75.

Touring gives Jenny great pleasure, varicose veins and her partner (St Geoff) a bit of a break, she says.

Rhod Gilbert will be on stage with The Man With The Flaming Battenberg Tattoo on Tuesday, October 23 at, 8pm in theAssembly Rooms. Tickets are £26.25.

Welsh wonder Rhod Gilbert is back on the road with a brand new live show.

His stand-up rants on life’s minor irritations are legendary, but this year, he’s

a more mellow-fellow. He’s so laid-back he even let someone tattoo a Battenberg on him. Will the new, chilled-out Rhod get his girl and live happily ever after, or will it be microwaved baked potato for one again?

Festival of the Spoken Nerd

Are You Sci-Curious? will be on stage on Friday, October 26, 8pm in the Assembly Rooms. Tickets are £15.25, with concessions £13.25 .

Stand-up mathematician Matt Parker, geek songstress Helen Arney and experiments guy Steve Mould star.

Join three of the UK’s best (and nerdiest) performers for an evening of comedy, science, music, maths and interactive experiments as they ask those

all-important questions: How can you use a parabola to set stuff on fire?
