Free wildlife fun for families

Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is inviting families to get closer to nature this summer with free wildlife activities.

In partnership with Groundwork Derby and Derbyshire, the Trust has organised the following events:

August 11: Bug sweep at Belper Parks. Come on a bug hunt and make cardboard bug homes.

August 18: Bug hunt at Hammersmith Meadows, Ripley.

August 25: Pond dipping at Red River Local Nature Reserve, Loscoe.

You can choose from a morning or afternoon session for each event, from 10.30am-12noon or 1pm-2.30pm. They are all free, but booking is required. Contact Derbyshire Wildlife Trust on 01773 881188.

The events are part of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust’s Getting Closer to Nature programme of family activities funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All.
