A new exhibition will be on display at Derby’s Riverlights, at The Morledge as part of the FORMAT International Photography Festival off-year programme.

The exhibition, entitled Being/Seeing showcases the work of emerging artists through PARALLEL, a European platform that brings together creative organisations promoting contemporary photography.

Being/Seeing features key themes concerning ‘being’, by either exploring the self, subconsciousness, our relation to others, or to the body.

Combining ideas of well-being, the exhibition also reflects on how we relate to other people’s experiences, inviting viewers to step into someone else’s visual world, to potentially recognise something of yourself in it.

Artists include Ramona Güntert (Germany), Toms Harjo (Latvia), Andrej Lamut (Slovenia), Glorija Lizde (Croatia), Charlotte Mano (France), Mark McGuinness (Ireland), Sofia Okkonen (Finland). The exhibition is curated by Nikki Zoë Omes (Netherlands).

Being/Seeing is on display at The Riverlights, Morledge, Derby, from April 20 to May 6. The exhibition is free to visit and open daily from 12noon to 4pm. More information on the exhibition can be found at
