Blossoms to bloom on festival stage
Excitement is building in the run-up to this summer's biggest draw for music lovers in Derbyshire.
The YNot festival will once again be taking over a greenfield site at Pikehall, between Matlock and Buxton.
The big names include Editors, The Cribs, Everything Everything and Kelis playing on Friday, July 29; Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Circa Waves and Rat Boy on Saturday, July 30; Madness, The Hives, Fun Lovin’ Criminals and Milky Chance on Sunday, July 31.
It’s not just the fans who are looking forward to making merry, so are the bands.
Tom Ogden, frontman with Blossoms, said: “We’ll be playing some big euphoric pop tunes you can sing and have a dance to.
“We did YNot last year and it was one of our favourite festivals. I’ve been as a punter a couple of years ago too, a great vibe all around the festival.”
Tom is looking forward to seeing The Magic Gang playing. He said: “They’re one of my favourite bands of the moment, great tunes!”
This year’s festival season has been a busy time for Blossoms who have played pretty much every one from Glastonbury to Kendal Calling and Leeds, Japan, Korea and Australia.
The band’s wanderlust shows no sign of diminishing, especially as there is a new album coming out next month. Tom said: “We’d love to tour that around the world.”
Meanwhile, the Stockport musos are content to head down the road to YNot.
