Shipley Hall and Trentside, who were next to each other in the middle of the Derbyshire County League Division Three at the start of play, enjoyed a good game on Saturday, despite the unsettled and showery weather.
Trentside batted first and Shipley made inroads into the batting straight away as Murfin and Starr saw them slump to 9-3 in a good spell of bowling.
However, some exhilarating batting from Dunn (80), Jones (44) and Hancox and they scored freely and enjoyed a flurry of boundaries as they pushed their total to an impressive 253-7.
James Cokayne and Ryan North grabbed a wicket each but Trentside were pleased with their total.
When Shipley batted, they made a bad start, losing wickets to get runs on the board but then Gouws and James Cokayne enjoyed a stand worth 100 with the former hitting a splendid 89 and Cokayne a sound 50, an excellent recovery.
Trentside managed to claim eight of Shipley’s wickets with Hancox enjoying a good haul of 4-29 but Shipley held firm on 180-8 to draw the match.
Trentside claimed 19 points from the game to Shipley Hall’s nine.
