Ripley Running Club member Antoinette Franco returned to home soil to run the Belfast Marathon.
The Belfast Marathon is an unusual race in the sense that 15,000 of the 18,000 runners compete in five man relay teams, each running a section of the total course. Only 3,000 of the field are running the whole 26.2 miles.
The course is tricky and, at times, sees runners through exposed countryside and coastal paths, with the occasional hill thrown in for good measure.
Antoinette managed to complete the course in 4hrs 42.08. knocking 24 minutes off her previous personal best.
Friend of the club, Ian Duffin managed a very speedy 2hrs.59 to smash his personal best.
