It was a busy weekend for Ripley Running Club who held their first Alfreton Park 5k run.
Held on the fourth Saturday of every month at 9am, runners get the opportunity to run a timed 5km, three lap course of Alfreton Park, with shorter options for supervised U10s.
The next run is on 24th October and all results will be posted on www.ripleyrunningclub.com
Six club members took part in the Robin Hood Half Marathon at the weekend.
First back for Ripley over the new improved and slightly more undulating course was Tom Powis in a very swift 1.19 (51st).
Next back for the club was Richard Cauldwell in 1.27 (235th), closely followed by Joe Henstock, smashing his PB to pieces with in 1.29 (286th).
Next over the line was Amy Bradley who continued her return after injury with a 1.47 (1741st), followed by Andrew hill in 1.53 (2580th) and Lisa Watson in 1.57 (3205th).
The full marathon route was also brand new for 2015 and incorporated more scenery and more hills.
These proved no match for Wayne Yearwood who took it all in his stride, notching up another 26.2miles in 3.57 (522nd).
Ripley Running Club meet on Tuesdays, 6.45pm at Ripley Leisure Centre.
