Ripley Running Club swept the board at the recent Crich Monument 11k fell race, taking both the men’s and ladies’ team trophies.
Luke Beresford, Matt Jones, Richard Phillis and Wayne Smithurst brought the men’s trophy home after putting in a fine performance on the day for the club.
It was Richard’s first trophy, despite many years of running, which made the victory all the sweeter.
Meanwhile, Esther Broughton(73rd), Amy Bradley(80th)and Susan Varley(114th) combined to take the ladies title.
In the full race, Luke Beresford continued his great form, which has seen him take a handful of podium places in recent weeks.
He finished in sixth position, with Matt Jones hot on his heels, coming home in seventh.
Other Ripley Running Club members who were taking part in the Crich Monument 11k fell race were: Phil Layton- 23rd, Dennis Holmes- 33rd, Simon English- 34th, Pete Collinge- 46th and Stacey Smith-49th.
In addition, other Ripley RC runners on the day were Martin Harvey- 51st, Dave Kinder- 63rd, James Wetton- 79th, Dave Crowder- 85th, Bill Powis- 86th, Dave Barratt- 87th, Mike Corrigan- 92nd, Matt Nicholls- 102nd, Jay Bird- 103rd, Vicki Leach- 111th.
