Ripley Amateur Boxing Club given cash boost to run fitness classes


Ripley Amateur Boxing Club has received a grant from money raised by HealthCalm to help health related causes in local communities.

The club currerntly run free boxing-based fitness classes for youngsters in the area nad have been given a £26,896 grant from money raised by HealthCalm through the Health Lottery to keep up the good work.

The funding will enable RABC to run a two year project promoting fitness and healthy living within the local community.

Starting at the end of January 2014, the club will be running two sessions weekly on a Monday and Friday between 6pm and 7.30pm.

All ages and abilities are welcome. U8’s are free and over 18’s £2.

Boxing based fitness classes are a great way to get fit, have fun, meet new people, build confidence and raise self esteem through increased fitness levels.

The club can also offer through the funding received the chance for members to gain qualifications from volunteer opportunities within the gym.
