Saturday, September 6, saw another impressive day of gradings from the juniors of Paragon Heanor and Langley Mill.

These included three new students going for their first gradings as well as many kickboxing students going for their higher belts.

Johnny Parry, their instructor, said: “It’s great to see how much the higher belts have come along since their first gradings. Great effort, great self control, a pleasure to see the improvement every time.

“It’s also great to see my newest grading students Elle May street, Charlie Street and Maliyah Faith Lucas going for their red belts. As always, I’m proud of my students.”

The day also saw adults going for higher belts.

“I had adults working up to purple belts, they worked really hard, they are realising martial arts doesn’t get easier as you go along, it’s all a massive learning curve and there’s always room to improve.

“Anyone who thinks they already know everything is massively mistaken!”
