Leon Haslam is out to make amends after a disappointing last round in America as he goes in search of success in Sundays seventh round of the World Superbike Championship at Misano in Italy.
Haslam battled to 10th and eighth place finishes in America and is now aiming to get his title aspirations back on track on the Adriatic coastal circuit of Misano near Rimini.
“It’s been a disappointing last couple of rounds really,” admitted Haslam. “I should have won at Donington and then we seemed to have just about everything go wrong that could go wrong in America.
“But that’s racing and we are now fully prepared and ready to chase victories in Misano this weekend.
“I am really looking forward to Misano, I really like the track and I cant wait to be fighting at the front again.”
Haslam continued: “Misano is a circuit I really enjoy and where the S1000RR works well. The characteristics of the track suit our machine and I was close to podium places in both races there last year.
“However, I had a really bad crash when I was in a podium position in race one and broke an ankle but managed to finish fourth in the second race.
“After the earthquakes in Italy my thoughts are with the people in the region around Modena who are going through a difficult time. Italy is a second home for me as me and my family spend a lot of time there.”
Practice and the opening qualifying sessions are on Friday at Misano with final qualifying and Superpole on Saturday and the two 24-lap races on Sunday.
