Fishing has been at its best this week at Carsington Fishery.
There have been some great comments on the reports of people having thoroughly enjoyable visits and finding many areas of fish and missing many catches.
The rod average for last week was 5.74 with 132 fish caught by 23 anglers.
The heaviest rainbow was over 4lb 3oz, caught Mr P Harding, and the heaviest brown was 2lbs.
The tops spots have been Stone and Sailing Club island, Tower Bank and by Half Moon Field, Fish Tail Creek and Shiningford Bay.
Intermediate and slow sinking lines are generally working the best.
The flies are still mainly the usual popular lures for this point in the season – Cats whisker, Hot Head Damsels, Montanna, orange blobs, Olive Zonker and Black & Green lures.
Please note that Carsington is a boat fishing water only. It is advisable that boat bookings are made in advance to avoid disappointment. Discounts are available for bookings of 5 or more boats.
