History was made in Somercotes last week when Daz ‘Rooster’ Brown became the first player in the Ripley Elite Singles Darts League’s history to hit the magic nine-dart finish.
He hit 180, 180, treble 20, treble 19, then the double 12, to achieve every dart player’s dream .
Darron co-founded the REDSL league three years ago and it has gone from strength since then, attracting top players from the area.
The current Premier Division has current county players from top to bottom.
Darron has his eye on the PDC Qualifying School, in Barnsley from January 17-20 and, if successful, holds hopes of playing with legends such as Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis .
Sponsorship is the only way that he can realistically fulfill his lifetime ambition.
He is one of Ripley’s most prolific players, and has represented his county 98 times, mostly in the Derbyshire A team.
He said: “With the sport of darts at its highest ever popularity, the crowds are massive and it’s always been a dream to play among the best and try my luck.
“All I need is some local business to take the punt and with its global audience you never know how far we could go.
“As a self-employed bricklayer and with two little girls aged six and four, money is a bit tight . Any potential sponsors could contact me on 07869105655 and talk about everything.”
